This guide describes some of the most usefull consumables u can use in Guild Wars.
What are consumables ? These are items u can put in ur inventory bags and by double clicking on them while playing, u can get a sudden or temporary effect or advantage, somewhat comparable to enchantments or buffs.
Some of these consumables have an effect on ur own character, but others have a party wide effect.
Candy Canes (wintersday's gifts) are prolly the best known consumables but if u read further u'll see more and even stronger ones, introduced since the GW:EN campaign.
Some of these consumables can be crafted, others u get from quest rewards or collectors or thru special events like Wintersday, Lucky weekend, Dragon festival, ...

Notes:
1) None of these consumables can be used in PvP !
2) They are extremely usefull in hard areas, missions, quests and definately in Hard Mode.
3) All consumables below can only be used outside a town or outpost, the ones only usuable inside a town/outpost are not mentioned.
A) Personal consumables
1) Bowl of Skalefin Soup (collector item)
This is a quest item available from Chef Panjoh in The Astralarium
Effect : Gives you Health Regeneration +1 for 10 minutes.
What u need ? 2 Skale Fins
2) Drake Kabob (collector item)
This is an Istani delicacy which u can get from Chef Lonbahn in Kamadan or Apida in Yohlon Haven.
Effect : Activates the Drake Skin effect, giving you a +5 armor bonus for 10 minutes. This bonus ends prematurely if you die.
What u need ? 1 chunk of Drake Flesh
3) Pahnai Salad (collector item)
This is an Istani delicacy, which you can get from Chef Volon in Champion's Dawn.
Effect : It gives +20 health for 10 minutes, and gives your screen a warping effect similar to being drunk.
What u need ? 2 Iboga Petals
4) Refined jelly (collector item)
This is an item u can get from Thecos Bellyshaker in Ooze Pit (gotta luv his name lol)
Effect : This item removes 15% of your Death Penalty.
What u need ? 7 Blobs of Ooze
5) Birthday Cupcake (special events item)
Birthday Cupcakes were made available at the Guild Wars 2nd Birthday event.
Effect : Grants yourself +100 maximum health, +10 maximum energy, and 25% increased movement speed for 10 minutes.
Acquisition ? Random drops and Zaishen Supply Masters (10 victory tokens)
6) Slice of Pumpkin Pie (special events item)
This is a special item dropped during the American Thanksgiving 2007 Weekend.
Effect : Increases your attack speed by 25%, and reduces your skill activation time by 25% for the next 10 minutes.
Acquisition ? Dropped by monsters on the Special Treats Weekend.
7) Golden Egg (special events item)
This is an item only available during the April 6-8, 2007 Weekend.
Effect : Raises all of your attributes by 1 for 5 minutes.
Acquisition ? Dropped by monsters during 6-8 April, 2007.
Peppermint Candy Cane (special events item + dungeon chest reward)
These candy canes were available from collectors during Wintersday 2005 and from Winter Gifts during Wintersday 2005, Wintersday 2006, Wintersday 2007, and the Secret Lair of the Snowmen reward chest.
Effect : Removes all ur Death Penalty.
Acquisition ? Chest of Wintersday Past (Secret Lair of the Snowmen dungeon), Wintersday 2005 collectors, Winter Gifts (Wintersday 2005, Wintersday 2006 and Wintersday 2007), Wintersday Gifts (Wintersday 2006 and Wintersday 2007)
9) Wintergreen Candy Cane (special events item + dungeon chest reward)
Wintergreen Candy Cane is an item handed out during Wintersday 2006 and Wintersday 2007 but also a possible drop in the Secret Lair of the Snowman dungeon.
Effect : Removes 15% of your Death Penalty.
Acquisition ? Chest of Wintersday Past, Wintersday 2006 collectors, Random drop from Wintersday Gifts.
B) Party consumables
1) Powerstone of Courage (crafted item + quest reward)
This is an item u can craft at a crafter in GW:EN but u need to have Ebon vanguard Title Rank 3 minimum, it's also a reward for 2 quests.
Effect : Removes all death penalty from your party. Your entire party then receives a 10% morale boost.
Acquisition ? Edwin in Eye of the North crafts this item for 1 Skill Point, 100 Granite Slabs, 100 Piles of Glittering Dust, and 1,000 gold. Also a reward for "Service: In Defense of the Eye" ; "The Hunting of the Charr" quests.
2) Grail of Might (crafted item + quest reward)
This is an item u can craft at a crafter in GW:EN but u need to have Norn Title Rank 3 minimum, it's also a reward for 1 quest.
Effect : Grants your party members +100 maximum Health, +10 maximum Energy, and +1 to all of their attributes for 30 minutes.
Acquisition ? Eyja in Gunnar's Hold crafts this item for 1 Skill Point, 50 Iron, 50 Dust, and 250 gold. Also a reward for "Prenuptial Disagreement" quest.
3) Essence of Celerity (crafted item + quest reward)
This is an item u can craft at a crafter in GW:EN but u need to have Asura Title Rank 3 minimum, it's also a reward for 1 quest.
Effect : Grants your party members 25% faster movement and attack speeds, and reduces their skill activation and recharge times by 25% for the next 30 minutes.
Acquisition ? Kwat in Rata Sum crafts this item for 1 Skill Point, 50 Feathers, 50 Piles of Glittering Dust, and 250 gold. Also a reward for "O Brave New World" quest.
4) Armor of Salvation (crafted item + quest reward)
This is an item u can craft at a crafter in GW:EN but u need to have Dwarven Delver Title Rank 3 minimum, it's also a reward for 2 quests.
Effect : Grants your party members immunity to critical hits, +10 armor, +1 Health regeneration, and damage reduction of 5 for the next 30 minutes.
Acquisition ? Alcus Nailbighter in Central Transfer Chamber crafts this item for 1 Skill Point, 50 Iron Ingots, 50 Bones, and 250 gold. Also a reward for 'The Throwdown in a Norn Town" ; "The Destroyer Challenge" quests.
5) Honeycomb (collector + quest reward item)
This is an item in the GW:EN expansion, available as a quest reward of from a collector.
Effect : Gives your party a 5% morale boost. This morale boost does not cause skills to instantly recharge.
Acquisition ? Reward for "A Hunter's Pride" quest or from Galton Franks in Sacnoth Valley in exchange for 8 Stone Grawl Necklaces.
6) Elixir of Valor (coffer of Whisper reward)
This item is one of the random rewards from a Coffer of Whispers.
Effect : Give your party a 10% Morale Boost. This morale boost does not cause your skills to instantly recharge.
Acquisition ? The Coffer of Whispers is a reward given out by a Keeper of Whispers in the Gate of Anguish, in exchange for one of each four Anguish Gemstones: 1 Stygian Gemstone, 1 Torment Gemstone, 1 Margonite Gemstone, 1 Titan Gemstone. Upon activation the coffer turns into a random item that may be an Elixir of Valor.
7) Four-Leaf Clover (special events item)
Random drop for the duration of the lucky weekend (march 2007. It drops in all places except the Realms of the Gods.
Effect : Removes a random amount of DP (5%-15%) from your entire party.
Acquisition ? In PvP Four-Leaf Clovers dropped in AB and CM by NPCs only. In PvE, they will not only be dropped by monsters, but also by dummies, animals, and npcs.
Rainbow Candy Cane (special events item + dungeon chest reward)
Rainbow Candy Cane is an item handed out during the Wintersday 2006 special event as a drop from Wintersday Gifts but also a possible drop in the Secret Lair of the Snowman dungeon.
Effect : Gives your party a 5% morale boost. This morale boost does not cause skills to instantly recharge.
Acquisition ? Chest of Wintersday Past (Secret Lair of the Snowmen dungeon) and random drop from Wintersday Gifts acquired during Wintersday 2006 finale.
